Microchips

Vet with dog

It happens every day: lost dogs and cats are brought to animal shelters all across the nation. Too often the animals are not wearing tags and have no microchips. Without identification, how do we find the owners? Each year across the country, seven million cats and dogs are lost, and only 16 percent of dogs and 2 percent of cats find their way home again from shelters.

THE MOST EFFECTIVE WAY TO HELP YOUR PET "GO HOME AGAIN" SHOULD IT BECOME LOST (OR EVEN STOLEN) IS TO HAVE HIM/HER MICROCHIPPED. THE PROCESS IS QUICK, SIMPLE, SAFE, AND PAINLESS TO THE ANIMAL.

All animals adopted from the Lawrence Humane Society have received an embedded microchip. We encourage you to microchip your pets if you haven't already, and for only $25 (per animal), we'd be happy to provide this service for your special companion.

Nearly 7,500 dogs and cats come through our doors each year. If your pet is one of them, we want to do everything we can to send him home to you!
