Let’s Help Lost Pets
Find Their Way Back Home

It happens every day: lost dogs and cats are brought to animal shelters all across the nation. Too often the animals are not wearing tags and have no microchips. Without identification, how do we find the owners? Each year across the country, seven million cats and dogs are lost, and only 16 percent of dogs and 2 percent of cats find their way home again from shelters.

To help pets reunite with their owners, it’s important that all animals wear tags and/or have microchips. On Saturday, April 3, the LAWRENCE HUMANE SOCIETY is offering a special microchip day ($15 per pet) both at the shelter (1805 E. 19th Street, Lawrence) and at Petco (3115 Iowa Street, Lawrence). Let’s do everything we can to make sure lost pets can always go home again.

Microchip hours:
Lawrence Humane Society shelter: 11:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
Petco: noon to 4:00 p.m.
