Spay Day USA
Tuesday, February 22, 2011
A national day of action sponsored by the Doris Day League and the Humane Society of the United States.
The American Humane Association estimates that 15 million adoptable dogs and cats will be euthanized simply because they are unwanted. The purpose of Spay Day USA is to raise awareness about the importance of spaying and neutering companion animals to reduce overpopulation.
You can be a big part of Spay Day!
Here’s how:
- Spay or neuter your pets.
- Donate to the Lawrence Humane Society so we can continue to help fund spay/neuter procedures. Each person donating $10 to our spay and neuter fund will receive a free water bottle and LHS tote bag! Donate online or by check.
- Talk to people about the importance of altering their pets, and tell them the Lawrence Humane Society can help pay for a portion of the procedure.
- Help reduce the feral cat population by humanely trapping cats, having them altered, and releasing the cats where they will have shelter and daily food.
