We Have a Winner!
Congratulations to Kyle Laubner of Lawrence who held the winning ticket for this year's Harley-Davidson motorcycle drawing! The drawing took place on Sunday, November 8, at the Animal Fair of Douglas County. Earlier this fall Kyle had stopped at the shelter to adopt a puppy and ended up also buying one ticket for the drawing. We wish Kyle the best with his new puppy and his new Harley.
You Can Win a Hog!
Help the shelter and get your chance to win a brand new (2010) Harley-Davidson Sportster 1200 Custom — a $10,000 value — made available by our local dealer Riverfront Harley-Davidson. This beautiful ride delivers 1200 cc of power with 57 mpg on the road and 42 mpg in town.
Tickets are available today for a suggested donation of $25 each. Only 750 tickets will be sold, and there is no limit per person, so you've got an excellent shot at this one!
Did you say, “O.K., but what would I do with a MOTORCYCLE?”
If the idea of owning a new Harley isn't exciting to you, consider this: first of all, it’s worth $10,000. Yes, $10,000! It’s brand new and you could sell it. Wouldn’t you buy a $25 chance to win $10,000, especially to help the shelter animals?
Secondly, the winner could donate it back to the Lawrence Humane Society for next year’s raffle. It’s still brand new (2010 model), and it’s still worth $10,000. Think of the tax write-off! So before you say, “I wouldn’t want a Harley,” instead think, “maybe I would want to WIN a Harley.” For all you non-motorcycle folks, it’s something to think about.
To obtain your ticket(s):
1) Visit the shelter and ask for tickets at the front desk
2) Call the shelter at 785-843-6835, ask for Robin, and provide your credit card number
3) Mail your ticket(s) request with a check (payable to "Lawrence Humane Society") to:
